The Honda City and the Toyota Vios are the most popular “medium size cars” in Thailand. At the moment the Honda City is leading the sales chart and it happens to be the car that we prefer.
The Honda City is a 4 door saloon with a 1.5 litre 4 cylinder petrol engine mated to a traditional 5 speed automatic gearbox. The engine is a “Dr Jekyll and Mr Hide” Vetec unit. Drive it sensibly and it is quiet, refined and returns excellent fuel economy BUT put your foot down and the high sweet revving Vetec engine roars into life and becomes very addictive.
Our rental City’s are well specified and most have leather interiors. The standard spec includes twin airbags, ABS, EBD, Aircon, AM FM radio/mp3 player via USB/AUX, central locking, power windows and alloy wheels.
If you intend to carry 3 adult passengers on a regular basis the extra power of the City will make your driving experience more enjoyable than the Yaris. If you intend to drive alone or with 1 or 2 passengers the Yaris works great.
